Clients with a Home Care Package should not be waitlisted, and should be prioritised. Usually they require once off appointments for AT or Home Modifications.

As we are not a registered aged care provider, we are unable to service clients that have CHSP funding (with referral codes). We do not have access to the portal. It is becoming increasingly common that client's are unable to find providers to service CHSP for OT, so they often become frustrated over the phone. Let them know we are able to see them privately, or to contact My Aged Care to get in touch with a provider who is able to facilitate CHSP.

If clients are on a levelled Home Care Package, we are able to facilitate

GEAT2GO: Those on the waiting list for HCP funding can access funding through GEAT2GO for equipment and Assistive Technology under \$2,500.

Generally, OT's will need a 1 to a few sessions with the client for the assessment and letter, depending on complexity. As we are not a registered aged care provider, sessions will not be covered by their CHSP funding. They are able to pay for the session privately, or through a Medicare referral, and then their CHSP/GEAT funding will pay for the actual device/equipment.

NOTE: Often, clients will need to pay a gap/copayment to GEAT for the device/equipment. Clients will need to double check with GEAT to see what the cost of their product is, and weigh up whether the cost of the product and the private cost of the appointments is worthwhile, (for example; the cost of 2 appointments through Medicare is \$279.30, and they would generally pay a copayment towards the product to GEAT, if they are purchasing a \$300 falls alarm, it may be worth it just to buy the product outright, or to find a provider that can utilise CHSP funding).
