Quick Overview:- MyAgedCare is the funding body (Contact on 1800 200 422)
- Clients will contact MyAgedCare and take part in an ACAT or RAS assessment to receive a referral prior to seeing us
- There are 2 different types of referrals: Home Care Package (HCP) and Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
- Ultimately, we cannot provide services to these clients
- Entry level subsidy funding
- Can only use their referral codes with Registered Aged Care Providers, which we are not
- They cannot pay for the session themselves and claim back as MyAgedCare gives the funds to the allocated Registered Aged Care Provider
- If their referral has multiple codes on it, it may be a CHSP referral
- Does not have 'levels' of funding
- HCP clients will usually come to us with a referral when they have a Care Coordinator (or the CC might send via email), or if they are Self Managing their package
- There are 4 tiers of funding to meet their level of needs
- HCP appointments do not need to be home visits
- Any travel time is charged at the same rate as per the service that is booked in (always good to double check they're aware there is a travel charge for home visits)
- Use 'HomeCare' client tag - we use this in the batch billing
- Examples of Coordinators are FiveGoodFriends, Anglicare, Bolton Clarke, HomeInstead, BlueCare, SunCare, OzCare, Trilogy, Dulci, Seasons, Ferros Care, Together We Care, Healthcare Australia, Rural Lifestyle Options, Ramsay, Care To Care, Plancare, etc
- We require the Care Coordinators details on file prior to booking any appointments as this is where it gets billed
- Usually the Coordinators will require us to sign a brokerage agreement with them
- Home Care Package clients are usually charged our OLD Private Fee Rates. Specific Service Item codes are used - this is why we book using the 'HomeCare' appointment type (You may need to tick this Service Type in your Practitioners Splose User Settings)
- If we have a Home Care provider who wants to broker our services we need to get them to send us an email request and then we can send them through the info regarding prices. Please do not discuss any of the old prices with these prospective HCP companies. Ross & Meg will broker the arrangement with them depending on other information
- Some clients self manage their funding, though this isn't often
- They are treated like private clients, paying in clinic after each appt, in which they can claim back – they need to check with their Home Care Package contact as to whether they will be reimbursed for their payments, as we are not a Registered HCP provider
- These clients are booked in as private clients, and are charged our NEW Private Fee Rates
- Do you have a referral?
- Who manages your funding for you - Are you self managed or have a care coordinator?
- If they are not self managed and are not set up with a care coordinator yet, we are unable to provide services as we are not a registered MyAgedCare provider, refer them back to MyAgedCare website or to contact them via phone - they will have a list of coordinators in their area
- If they are CHSP, we are unable to provide services as we are not a registered MyAgedCare provider, refer them back to MyAgedCare website or to contact them via phone - they will have a list of aged care providers in their area: if they say they have a long waitlist, they will just need to wait for an appointment with them

Five good friends will send an email with a link on it. Follow the link to view the referral with client information and "budget" for an appointment which is flexible. Email back a quote if the pricing doesn’t align with ours and they will update the referral. Once the digital referral is correct, email the referrals contact "Five Good Friends – Referrals" in splose to accept the referral. FGF will then send a purchase order to be saved on clients file. A case can be made for the number of sessions on the purchase order. Add purchase order number to extra invoicing details and send invoices to "Five Good Friends" contact on splose. Add Care Coordinator details as a contact too.
We currently have agreements with Seasons, Bolton Clarke, Home Instead & (to my knowledge)
